Friday afternoon, December 6

As of Sunday morning, December 8, 2024, there are 13 downhill ski resorts open in Vermont. And there are a handful of cross-country ski centers open, too. This is darn good for early December!

We went for our first Nordic ski outings of the season on Friday and Saturday afternoon. (I can feel it in my shoulders!) It was so wonderful to glide along in the snowy woods!

Each day it has snowed in northern Vermont. At Bolton Valley's Nordic trails, they had rolled the snow on some trails by Friday afternoon. And on Saturday there was fresh snow on top. Made for some fun, mellow telemark turns on our touring skis!

Keep in mind that some ski resorts and cross-country centers may not operate midweek this week. Part of the reason is some impending warmer weather and perhaps some rain.

As you plan an outing, be sure to check our direct links to the snow reports at Vermont ski resorts. And then check again :)

Enjoy the snow!
