As expected, Vermont skier visit numbers went down last season

You can’t win them all.

Two seasons ago, we had one of the snowiest ski seasons in recent memory here in Vermont. Last season, not so much.

So as expected, the skier visit numbers that were reported today weren’t all that surprising.

Ski Area Management magazine says Vermont ski resorts recorded 3,903,171 skier visits during the 2011/12 ski season. That’s 5% down from the 10-year average and 11% down from the 2010/11 ski season, which was the very snowy winter.
