Updated 5/10/11

I've been checking in on the dates that Vermont ski resorts are closing. Typically the smaller ski areas close first because of lower elevations and smaller operating budgets.

This is not a complete list because the ski resorts don't always announce their intentions in advance. Please check the website of the resort you'd like to go to before you head for the hills! We have links on our <link internal-link>Vermont ski resorts page.

Closed as of March 30:

Pico Mountain
Mt. Ellen side of Sugarbush
Northeast Slopes
Suicide Six Ski Area
Kingdom Trails XC
Highland Lodge XC
Brattleboro Outing Club XC
Morse Farm XC
Wild Wings XC
Woodstock Inn XC

Expected last day of March 30:

Cochran's Ski Area
(But check their website "in case someone changes their mind," they say!)

Expected last day of April 3:

Bromley Mountain
Middlebury Snow Bowl

Expected last day of April 10:

Burke Mountain (closed April 4-8)
Bolton Valley Resort (closed April 4-8)
Stratton Mountain
Mad River Glen
Magic Mountain (closed April 4-8)

Expected last day of April 17:

Mount Snow (but closed some midweek days until then - check their site)
Okemo Mountain
Stowe Mountain
Smugglers' Notch

Expected last day of May 1:

Killington
Sugarbush

Expect to be open May 14-15:

Jay Peak
