Striding into springtime at Trapp Family Lodge Cross-Country Ski Center

— Cross-country skiing, Trapp Family Lodge, Spring skiing

We skied in the sunshine today to close out March. There's still quite a bit of snow at the Trapp Family Lodge Cross-Country Ski Center in Stowe, Vermont!

The sun and shade made the snow conditions vary as we skied along. Spots that had soaked up the morning sun became soft and then sticky after noon. Patches of snow that stayed in the shade did not soften up very much. You can imagine that this caused a lot of stop-and-go as we descended the Parizo trail in the afternoon!

The sun and spring temperatures felt great to ski in. The sap was running as well. Trapps collects maple sap with both buckets and tubing. The sugarhouse was in action today.

We look forward to seeing what April will have to offer!
