Skiers in Vermont are all a-twitter about today's snowstorm. It's been snowing heavily, starting in southern Vermont and working its way up to northern Vermont.
Here in the Champlain Valley, I was disappointed not to wake up to the sound of a snowplow, but by 10 a.m. the roads were getting white and the snow had been coming down hard. (Here's a shot of snow falling against my car at 10:30. The snowbank remains from past storms.)
Magic Mountain, Mount Snow and Stratton ski resorts already report a few inches of snow. At this time, the <link http: www.erh.noaa.gov btv html stormtotalsnow stormtotalsnow.shtml external-link-new-window snow>National Weather Service is calling for southern Vermont to get the most snow in the state. The northern Green Mountains may see 8 inches of new snow or so, while the southern Green Mountains may see on the order of 13 inches. We'll see how it shakes out.
Whether it's 8 or 13, it will make for some great skiing. We've enjoyed enough of a sunny break this week (it was nice) but now let's get back to our regularly scheduled snowy winter.
Now, where to ski tomorrow. Hmmmm...
