Vermont ski furniture

Been in your basement or barn lately? Trying to figure out what to do with all that old ski equipment?

Two small companies in Vermont can help you turn some of your skis into some very cool furniture, like this Adirondack style chair made out of nordic skis. It's beautiful!Vermont-made ski furniture

Based in Morrisville and Waterbury, Vermont  —  towns that bookend Stowe  —  these companies will take your old gear and suggest ways to create a ski chair, table, CD rack, coffeetable, or whatever the imagination creates!

It's an unfortunate fact that ski equipment can quickly become obsolete, so much so that ski shops won't work on older gear and you cannot find replacement parts for it. Time and technology march on. So it makes sense to create something fun and useful out of some of your boards instead of hucking them into the landfill.

In nearby Jericho, Vermont, I drive by a home where the owner has created a custom ski fence around their yard. Let's face it, those skis are surely going to outlast today's plastic (yuck!) or wooden fencing.

Even if you don't have old gear to supply to these craftspeople, you can still purchase a work of art. Check them out online:
