Things got a bit jollier at the end of this week when Vermont ski resorts received anywhere from an inch to six inches of natural snowfall. It really made for a beautiful day at Bolton Valley resort. I took laps in the sun on the Vista Quad chair and enjoyed looking at the frosty trees that were all around me.
I skied the available route from the summit that was made up of Sherman's Pass and Bear Run. I actually took my telemark gear out today to get more practice on it. (I'm getting there with my tele turns...)
In some of the photos you can see a kind of snowmaking cloud, and in the air it seemed like there were millions of ever-so-tiny Swarovski crystals! The resort was blowing snow on the bottom of Sherman's Pass to beef up the coverage. The route that is open is a major night skiing trail and I read that they will have night skiing later this holiday week.
As for today, the snow conditions were quite good, albeit on limited terrain, and it was a sweet treat to have no lift lines on Christmas Eve!
Happy holidays, everyone!
